What’s a coaching session?!

What’s a coaching session?!

Hi everyone!

A lot of you know by now that I have launched my own health and life coaching practice! I have shared on my page stories, pictures, quotes, and my own personal story from my wellness and health journey…and I realize that a lot of you may not actually know what it’s like to work with a health and life coach! It’s not very common in this area yet, so I do want to take the next couple of minutes and actually break down step by step for you what it’s like to go through a one-on-one coaching session with me, so that way you know exactly what you’re getting and that way you can decide whether or not working with me is the next best step in your Wellness Journey!

Each of my sessions contain 5 parts, and they are; What’s going well, coaching around obstacles and challenges, new information, experimental exercise, and setting up empowered actions. And that’s it! Just those five steps. I will break down and give you a little bit more information about all but that’s really all that the coaching session is. We meet either in person or we can do a zoom call or through phone call.

We start off the session with what’s going well. This could be something that happened this past week that you were really excited about, a small win, or something that we can celebrate together so that way we can keep that momentum going as we continue our journey together.

The second step in the session is coaching around obstacles and challenges. Essentially we are diving in and we’re seeing what came up for you that was an obstacle. A lot of people set goals, a lot of people have to do list, a lot of people have mental notes to do this this and this, but let’s be real…life happens, things get in the way, things come up, and this part of the session actually is dedicated to figuring out what came up for you and how we can better process it or figure out what to do next time the situation arises so that way you can get through it confidently and you’ll know how to work through it better next time.

The third step is new information. This could be from my own personal experience, from schooling, from books I’ve read, something I’ve watched, but I’ve researched and I have a lot of tools and information that I have to share with you to help make sure that you are a successful, and heading towards the right direction of your goals that you want to achieve. So, the third step is new information that I share with you and work together to figure out what valuable tools you can implement in your life to help you get to where you want to go.

Fourth step is experimental exercises which kind of goes hand-in-hand with new information. This could be some breathing exercises that you do with me, maybe some journaling work but essentially it’s time set aside so that way we can do a couple of exercises that will help the new information that I give you, stick.

Last but not least in the session is step number 5 which is setting empowered actions. Like I said before a lot of people have goals, but sometimes stuff gets in the way. By setting empowered actions, it will hold you accountable and it will help you figure out what you need to do to get it done so that way you keep moving forward and keep moving the needle where it matters the most.

So there you have it! Those are the five steps in a coaching session with me. If you have any questions please leave them below, or you can message me as well! I hope you have a wonderful day and take care! ❤
